Vegan JUST Egg will be available at 2,100 Kroger-owned stores nationwide in the coming weeks, including Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, QFC, Fry’s, and more. California startup JUST debuted the mung bean-based egg replacer at select restaurants last year and launched at Whole Foods Markets and Sprouts in April, following a retail launch at retailers Hy-Vee, Wegmans, and Fresh Thyme. “We believe a just food system starts with breakfast and our partnership with the Kroger family of stores, the largest grocery store chain in the United States, makes JUST Egg accessible to countless consumers in communities around the country,” JUST CEO Josh Tetrick said. “This milestone is a major step toward building a smarter, healthier, and more sustainable way of eating.” To date, JUST has sold the vegan equivalent of more than 10 million chicken eggs and frequently outsells its animal-based competitors (such as EggBeaters) at top grocery chains.
