In April, French dairy company Bel Brands will launch its own vegan cheese line Nurishh on Amazon Fresh and at select retailers, with further distribution planned for this year. The new cheeses will be available in six flavors and two formats: mozzarella, provolone, and cheddar slices and mozzarella, cheddar, and mozzarella/cheddar blend shreds. The development of the new cheeses was guided by Bel Brand’s expertise in cheesemaking to recreate the qualities of dairy cheese—such as meltability and taste—using plant-based ingredients fortified with vitamin B12 and calcium.

“Food plays a big role in cultivating happy and healthy moments, because the simple act of sharing a meal holds the power of bringing families together,” Florian Decaux, Plant-Based Acceleration Director for Bel Brands, said. “Nurishh can help you create dishes that bring everyone to the table—like a perfectly melted grilled cheese or a delicious cheesy pizza.”

Vegan BabyBel cheese?

While Nurishh is Bel Brand’s first fully plant-based line, the company plans to launch additional vegan cheese products to modernize its portfolio. Last year, Bel Brands announced that it is also developing dairy-free versions of its core cheese brands, including BabyBel snack cheeses (which are expected to launch in the US by the end of the year), The Laughing Cow cheese wedges, and more. The Bel Group has already made good on its promise by launching a plant-based version of its Boursin cheese spread in Garlic & Herbs flavor—a product that was developed with the help of iconic vegan brand Follow Your Heart.
