This week, eco-conscious designer Stella McCartney partnered with Bloomingdale’s to launch  Stellabration, a curated sustainability focused shop at the retailer’s 59th Street flagship location in New York City. The shop features an exclusive look at McCartney’s gender-neutral Shared capsule collection, along with her Spring 2021 and Resort 2021 collections. Shoppers will find vegan leather handbags and shoes, apparel with McCartney’s bold prints, workout clothing from an Adidas and McCartney collaboration, and children’s clothing.

In addition to clothing and accessories, the shop includes other goods that speak to McCartney’s commitment to sustainability such as an exclusive snack box by VeganCuts. The $38 box is filled with a variety of vegan snacks such as Endangered Species’ new oat milk chocolate bars, Outstanding Foods’ vegan pork rinds, and vegan parmesan-flavored banana chips by Bubba’s Fine Foods. The Stellabration collection will also offer exclusive products from Bloomingdale’s, such as tote bags, cosmetic bags, patches and face masks, that raise awareness for sustainability issues with messages such as “I Am Not Disposable.”

Sustainability in fashion

In its entirety, the Stellabration collection—which is not fully vegan as some home and beauty items contain animal products such as beeswax and pearls—is meant to promote a more sustainable way of life through fashion, food, beauty, and home decor. “Thinking about the future of fashion is what drives and sustains me in all aspects of my work including this project with Bloomingdale’s,” McCartney said. “For us at Stella McCartney, change has always been about being more in tune with Mother Earth and her creatures and using the fashion industry as a platform to make the message desirable. I’ve been working towards this change in the fashion industry for many years, proving that you don’t have to sacrifice style for the sake of sustainability.  Living sustainably can start by making small changes, and even these small steps can have a positive impact on the environment.”

The Stellabration collection is shoppable in-store and online now through May 17.
