Australia-based chain Hungry Jack’s (a subsidiary of Burger King) celebrates World Vegan Day (today) with a very vegan deal. Today, customers can present a printed voucher from the company’s Facebook page to receive two Vegan Cheeseburgers for the price of one. The chain added the option—a vegan update of its Veggie Whopper—to 400 locations across Australia in October and has since doubled its sales in the category. “Customer response to the addition of the Vegan Cheeseburger as a permanent fixture on the Hungry Jack’s menu has been overwhelmingly positive,” Hungry Jack’s Chief Marketing Officer Scott Baird said. “We highly value the incredible support we’ve received from our customers since the launch and wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate World Vegan Day by giving everyone the chance to try the Vegan Cheeseburger with a friend.”
