Michigan-based Pure Detroit apparel company partnered with California accessory company Harvey’s to create Detroit-themed vegan wallets, dopp kits, purses, and handbags from recycled seatbelts. Pure Detroit CEO Ryan Hooper recently appeared on a local morning news segment to promote the new items that are decorated with 19th century maps of Detroit and said that the material used to make his products “would end up in a landfill if it wasn’t put to this use.” Cooper revealed that the items had a lifetime guarantee and are built tough. Harvey’s is an accessory company specializing in using recycled vegan materials—such as seatbelts—and in addition to Pure Detroit, the company partners with Disney.
