Food brand Abe’s—known best for its mini muffins—recently launched vegan Chocolate Fudge Brownies at retailers nationwide, including Whole Foods, Ralphs, Morton Williams, and select Hyvee locations. The allergen-friendly vegan brownies are sold for a suggested retail price of $6.99 to $7.99 for a pack of 12. In honor of National Brownie Day (today), Abe’s is offering a $1 off coupon on its new brownies which can be downloaded here and used in stores through December 18.

The company was founded by brothers Joby and Marty Koffman to provide a sweet treat for Joby’s son Abe, who was born with peanut, tree nut, and dairy allergies. “Abe’s consumers have been asking us to create an indulgent chocolatey treat for years, so a brownie was a natural choice. And we try to deliver,” Marty Koffman told VegNews. “After a year of research and development, we’re thrilled with the final Abe’s ooey-gooey chocolate fudge brownie. The sticker on the container perfectly sums up our brownies: The Smudgier The Fudgier.”

Abe’s is growing
Abe’s muffins are also available at select Whole Foods Market locations in a variety of flavors such as chocolate chip—which is the best-selling vegan snack in the country according to data gathered by market research firm SPINS, with its Wild Blueberry Smash flavor coming in close second. In addition to expanding its distribution with the September launch of the brand’s mini muffins at 350 Sprouts Farmers Market locations, Abe’s is focused on developing new vegan products, including vegan Celebration Cake which it launched in Vanilla, Chocolate, and Carrot flavors at retailers in October. The brand is also working to lessen its environmental footprint by transitioning its packaging from plastic to sustainable paperboard.
