If you’re vegan, then chances are you’ve tried WholeSoy & Co.’s line of dairy-free yogurt. The company was founded in 1999 and became so successful that by 2013, they halted operations to build a dedicated, vegan facility. Progress was slow as building costs grew, and after a year off the shelves, WholeSoy’s popular yogurt was back in stores nationwide. Sadly, in an open letter to its loyal fans this spring, WholeSoy announced it would be closing permanently, citing accrued debt and daily operating costs as the reasons behind its downfall.
