Youth organization Girl Scouts of the USA will offer new vegan cookie Toast-Yay for the 2021 Girl Scout Cookie season. The new French toast-shaped cookie is infused with cinnamon and dipped on one side in icing. Toast-Yay—which helps girls learn business, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills—is made by ABC Bakers, a bakery which also makes the organization’s other vegan cookie options such as Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties. “Each delightful, toast-shaped cookie is full of French toast flavor and flair and stamped with the trusted Girl Scouts’ signature trefoil on top,” the organization describes its new cookie. Availability of the new Toast-Yay cookies vary by location.
For the 2021 season—which runs from mid-January to April, with sale times varying locally—the Girl Scouts will announce online ordering plans to address the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic where customers will be able to purchase cookies directly from a Girl Scout with delivery made in a variety of ways. Last season, the organization launched the Girl Souts Cookie Care digital platform where customers could order cookies for delivery and had the option of donating cookies to first responders, volunteers, and local causes. Through this platform, the organization was able to donate millions of cookie packages.
