Vegetarian brand Sweet Earth recently launched two vegan entrée bowls exclusively at retail giant Target. The bowls, which are available in the freezer aisle of 1657 Target locations nationwide, include the Awesome Bulgogi Bowl and the Butter Chik’n Bowl. The Awesome Bulgogi Bowl features Korean-inspired vegan Sweet Earth Awesome Grounds with purple cabbage, carrots, bok choy, and sesame garlic sriracha sauce with rice; and the Butter Chik’n Bowl features plant-based Sweet Earth Mindful Chik’n with vegan buttery tomato sauce, chickpeas, carrots, and green peas with rice.
The brand—which Nestlé acquired for an undisclosed amount in 2017—will also debut six other new burritos and bowls at grocery stores nationwide, including the vegan Mongolian Beefless Bowl, Kung Pao Chik’n, and Awesome Pasta Puttanesca, and the vegetarian Awesome Cheeseburger Burrito, Buffalo Style Chik’n Burrito, and Chik’n Fajita.
“More than ever, today’s consumers are looking for plant-based options that are packed with flavor and convenient, especially when it might be harder to find traditional meat products on shelves,” Sweet Earth Vice President Jessica Vasisht said. “Sweet Earth is meeting this demand by offering new plant-based options that appeal to flexitarians by satisfying cravings of traditional foods, but also provides plant-based nutrition and goodness in an easy, ready-to- heat format.”
In late 2019, Sweet Earth debuted vegan protein products Mindful Chik’n, Awesome Burger, and Awesome Grounds. The brand plans to announce new innovations, including vegan jerky and deli slices.
