Expoé Sparks Egg Reform
Radlo Foods becomes first national egg producer committed to cage-free.
April 6, 2009
Last week’s exposé at Quality Egg of Maine was met—for the most part—with surprise, anger, and disgust. But Radlo Foods has perhaps offered the best response yet. In addition to breaking its ties with Quality Egg, the corporation has pledged to phase out battery cages within the next 10 years. Animal rights organizations hope that other industry leaders follow suit in an effort to help end the abysmal abuse against these innocent animals. Since 280 million hens are currently confined in factory farms nationwide, the country still has a long way to go. Thanks, Radlo, for getting things rolling!
