Canada-based vegan fast-food chain Globally Local is now available for franchising. In addition to operating a food truck, Globally Local opened its first brick-and-mortar location in London, ON last year. The brand opened a second London location—which features the world’s first 24-hour vegan drive-thru—last summer in a space formerly occupied by popular Canadian fast-food chain Harvey’s. According to founder James McInnes, the brand’s plant-based fast-food—which consists of vegan meals that mimic Big Macs, Whoppers, and KFC chicken sandwiches—has received “outstanding” consumer interest driving the brand to construct a new facility that supports its ability to scale production to meet the needs of new franchise owners. “We have greatly simplified the restaurant operation to the point where we feel that even those with little or no restaurant experience can easily operate a Globally Local franchise,” McInnes told VegNews. “We want to be a global contender in the fast-food world and we believe that by finding strong franchise partners, we can make this dream a reality.” McInnes will be franchising up to 10 additional locations in the next 12 months in the Ontario area before expanding to other areas across North America.
