Peet’s Coffee has added two new pistachio milk beverages to its winter lineup, marking the specialty coffee chain’s first collaboration with Táche and expanding its plant-based menu after years of testing vegan options.
Peet’s new pistachio drinks include a pistachio rose latte and a pistachio matcha latte, each available hot or iced and crafted with Táche’s real pistachio milk for a creamy, nuanced flavor profile. In addition to pistachio milk, the new rose latte features rose-flavored syrup and two shots of espresso while the matcha latte is made simply with Mighty Leaf Matcha.

Táche’s founder and CEO Roxana Saidi described the partnership as a natural fit. “Táche was created to show what’s possible when you start with real pistachios and refuse to compromise on flavor,” Saidi said in a statement. “Peet’s shares that same commitment to craftsmanship, which made this partnership feel natural from the start. Our pistachio beverages are rich and nuanced, balanced, and crafted without shortcuts—designed to elevate everyday coffee and matcha rituals without overcomplicating them.”
Peet’s steps into pistachio milk at a moment when plant-based beverage innovation is gaining traction in coffee shops nationwide. But the chain isn’t new to dairy alternatives. Peet’s first introduced soy milk in 1995, added almond milk in 2013, and brought oat milk on board in 2019—each rollout preceding similar moves by larger competitors.
Peet’s has also been testing vegan food items; its fully plant-based sandwich featuring vegan sausage, egg, and cheese debuted nationally after initial trials in 2021 and remains on the menu.
No upcharge for dairy-free milk
Alongside expanding plant-based options, Peet’s has addressed pricing barriers that have long frustrated vegan and dairy-free customers. For years, the chain charged an upcharge, typically eighty cents more, for substituting dairy with plant milks like oat, almond, or pea alternatives. That changed last March, when Peet’s announced it would eliminate the surcharge and offer plant-based milks at the same price as dairy across all US locations, effective June 2025.

The decision followed sustained advocacy from groups including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and public support from celebrity vegetarian and environmental advocate Sir Paul McCartney, who had urged the company to align its sustainability goals with pricing practices.
Peet’s shift to remove the surcharge put it in step with other major US coffee chains such as Starbucks and Dunkin’, which had already dropped plant-milk fees at the time of Peet’s announcement.
