The best time to plant asparagus is a few weeks before the last frost of winter. And, remember, if you’re trying to grow them from home, it’ll take a while before they’re ready for harvest. In fact, it’s not until the spring of the third year after planting that this perennial vegetable is ready for its first harvest.
